ΑΝΟΙΞΑΝ ΟΙ ΥΠΟΨΗΦΙΟΤΗΤΕΣ ΓΙΑ ΤΑ 2Α ΔΙΕΘΝΗ ΒΡΑΒΕΙΑ ΗΛΕΚΤΡΙΚΩΝ ΣΚΑΦΩΝ
Στα βραβεία του πρώτου έτους συμμετείχαν 50 σκάφη από 19 χώρες.
Οι υποψηφιότητες γίνονται τώρα αποδεκτές για τα βραβεία Gustave Trouvé για τα καλύτερα ηλεκτρικά σκάφη, τα διεθνή βραβεία ηλεκτρικών σκαφών που ξεκίνησαν πέρυσι από τον ιστότοπο ηλεκτρικών σκαφών Plugboats.com
Οι υποψηφιότητες γίνονται δεκτές σε τέσσερις κατηγορίες:
- Ηλεκτρικά σκάφη κάτω των 8m / 26 ft
- Ηλεκτρικά σκάφη άνω των 8m / 26 ft (περιλαμβάνει 8m / 26ft)
- Ηλεκτρικά σκάφη σχεδιασμένα για επιβάτες που πληρώνουν
- Προσαρμοσμένα / DIY Ηλεκτρικά σκάφη
Μέλη του κοινού, καθώς και κατασκευαστές και άλλοι στη ναυτική βιομηχανία είναι ευπρόσδεκτοι να ορίσουν οποιοδήποτε ηλεκτρικό σκάφος και να βρουν τα κριτήρια καταλληλότητας στη διαδικτυακή σελίδα υποψηφιότητας των Plugboats.
Τα βραβεία δημιουργήθηκαν για να αναγνωρίσουν τους εφευρέτες, τους σχεδιαστές, τους κατασκευαστές, τους επιχειρηματίες και τους οραματιστές που σημειώνουν πρόοδο κάθε μέρα για να αναπτύξουν καθαρές, ήσυχες, τεχνολογίες και σχέδια μηδενικών εκπομπών για να μειώσουν την εξάρτηση από ορυκτά καύσιμα για τη θαλάσσια πρόωση.
Ονομάστηκαν έτσι για να τιμήσουν τον Gustave Trouvé, έναν προφητικό Γάλλο εφευρέτη με πάνω από 75 διπλώματα ευρεσιτεχνίας στο όνομά του, στον οποίο απονεμήθηκε το Légion d’Honneur το 1882. Μεταξύ των καινοτομιών του ήταν ο πρώτος εξωλέμβιος ηλεκτρικός κινητήρας σκαφών στον κόσμο, τον οποίο σχεδίασε έτσι για να μπορεί να αποσπάσει τον κινητήρα από το πρωτότυπο ηλεκτρικό σκάφος του «Le Teléphone», και να τον πάει σπίτι για να εργαστεί στο διαμέρισμά του στο Παρίσι.
Ενώ η εφεύρεση του M. Trouvé, προηγείται του διπλώματος ευρεσιτεχνίας το 1887 του κινητήρα εσωτερικής καύσης και τα ηλεκτρικά σκάφη είναι διαθέσιμα από τα πρώτα χρόνια του 20ού αιώνα, μόλις πρόσφατα άρχισαν να εισέρχονται στην καθημερινότητα. Το «The Gussies», όπως τα βραβεία είναι γνωστά στον κόσμο των ηλεκτρικών σκαφών, είναι τα μόνα διεθνή βραβεία Ηλεκτρικών σκαφών που εστιάζουν αποκλειστικά σε ηλεκτρικά σκάφη και πλεύση. Τα βραβεία του 2020 είχαν 50 υποψήφια σκάφη από 19 χώρες με τα νικητήρια σκάφη να προέρχονται από τη Γαλλία, τη Σιγκαπούρη και την Ινδία.
Οι νικητές επιλέγονται μέσω ενός συνδυασμού διαδικτυακής δημόσιας ψηφοφορίας και σταθμισμένης ψηφοφορίας, από μια ομάδα εμπειρογνωμόνων του κλάδου από: τους Ηλεκτρικούς Συλλόγους Σκάφους του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου, των ΗΠΑ, της Ελλάδας, του Καναδά και της Ελβετίας. την επιτροπή εναλλακτικών καυσίμων της Inland Waterways International και την οργάνωση της «Βενετίας 2028» και της «e-Regatta».
«Ο πρώτος χρόνος των The Gussies είδε πάνω από 10.000 ψήφους από λάτρεις των ηλεκτρικών σκαφών σε όλο τον κόσμο», δήλωσε ο Jeff Butler, Συγγραφέας/ Εκδότης του Plugboats και Ιδρυτής των βραβείων «και με το ενδιαφέρον για την ηλεκτρική πρόωση να αυξάνεται κυριολεκτικά κάθε ημέρα, περιμένω πολλά πολλά περισσότερα φέτος. “
Το άνοιγμα των υποψηφιοτήτων, στις 26 Μαΐου, είναι η 140η επέτειος του πρώτου ταξιδιού του Gustave Trouvé στον ποταμό Σηκουάνα με το ηλεκτρικό του σκάφος το 1881. Οι υποψηφιότητες για το The Gussies κλείνουν στις 15 Ιουνίου και η ψηφοφορία θα ξεκινήσει την επόμενη μέρα – 16 Ιουνίου – για να επιλέξετε 6 σκάφη σε καθεμία από τις 4 κατηγορίες θα προχωρήσουν στον τελικό. Η τελική ψηφοφορία θα ξεκινήσει στις 6 Ιουλίου για να αποφασίσει τους νικητές, ανακοίνωσε την 118η επέτειο του θανάτου του Trouve το 1902: 27 Ιουλίου.

The Electric Boat Association of America was formed in 1992 to gather those dedicated to the enjoyment and promotion of clean and quiet electric boating. Goals include being an educational arm and information source for electric powered boating issues, representing electric boaters in matters of environmental protections and regulations and providing a forum for sharing experience and advice on electric boat related projects.

The Electric Boat Organization of Greece – EBA Greece was founded in Greece in 2016 to promote the development of electric boats and to serve the needs of all those who have an interest in the field of electric boats and ships, such as boat owners or members and business owners dealing with the specific construction sector.

The objectives of the Association, among others, are to promote the design, construction and use of zero emission boats. They encourage individuals to shift to sustainable boating and professional to equip their marinas with electric and / or hydrogen infrastructures. The association works also with the public authorities to increase the shift to zero emission boats. Once a year, the association organize a Swiss Tour to showcase developments in the field of zero emission boats. The public and guests can discover the latest innovations in electric and hydrogen boats, test them and enjoy the pleasure of sailing without any noise or pollutant emission.

The Electric Boat Association of Canada was formed in 2018 by a group of boating enthusiasts who are concerned about the use of fossil fuels for transportation and are excited about the possibilities of boats and ships powered by electricity. It advocates for policies, incentives and programs that will encourage use of electric propulsion in the country with the world’s longest coastline.

IWI’s Alternative Fuels Committee is working to promote methods to accelerate the transition of personal and commercial water craft used on inland waterways towards clean and sustainable propulsion systems. Its audience is the boating public as well as commercial interests, corporations, and legislative agencies. Its goal is to provide information on the latest technologies and best practices to these audiences so that they can make the best informed decisions about how to reduce carbon emissions from marine propulsion.

VeniceAgenda2028 is an N.G.O. working with Venetians to transform the city’s motorised waterborne traffic, particularly its public transport, from diesel/petrol engines to zero emission electric propulsion. The goal is to ensure that by the year 2028, all motor boats including water-buses, taxis, work and private boats are all zero-emission, low wash electric boats. The Venice e-Regatta of electric boats will take place May 29 to June 6 at the Salone Nautica Venezia (Venice Boat Show).
